A good day for the Brits in Meribel...

Sunshine, big bikes and one of the most aggressive trails that the downhill World Cup has seen...not bad for the series final here in Meribel, France.

We caught up with Les Gets local girl Tahnee Seagrave yesterday after she crashed during her practice run and she was happy to admit that she was scared of this trail. Some technical sections, slick areas and a very serious track was how she put it, and she told us she was nervous going in to todays qualification round. Despite that she was flying today and came an amazing 5th, behind 1st position Rachel Atherton, 2nd Manon Carpenter, 3rd Emmeline Ragot and 4th place Tracey Hannah.

It will be an amazing race tomorrow for the women with all still to ride for in terms of the overall classifications, plus winning on this epic track! After a quick chat with the current series leader Manon Carpenter, she appears confident, relaxed and is looking forward to the race on a track that she clearly enjoys.

The mens qualifying results were a bit different to predictions due to a few punctures, crashes and an amazing run from the little know Portuguese National Champion Francisco Pardal who came in 4th. Josh Bryceland took 2nd place behind fellow Brit Matt Simmonds, even after having a reported "small off"...showing that he is still in the form of his life here in Meribel. The same can be said for Matt Simmonds who took the lead by 0.82 seconds. French hope Loic Bruni came in 1.17 seconds back in 3rd place, while Sam Hill, Remi Thirion, Aaron Gwin, Danny Hart, Brook MacDonald and Gee Atherton filled up the top 10 spots with Brendan Fairclough just outside in 11th.

It's going to be another scorcher tomorrow both on and off the track - you can follow all the action on our facebook page where you'll find links to the live RedBull TV shows over the weekend, and we'll be keeping you up to date on Twitter & Instagram too.
