In winter there are various different passes on offer, and the choice can be bewildering. All passes are now hands-free and don't require photos - they stay in your pocket and you no longer need to show your pass to the lift attendants. You can buy your pass online here.
The Family Lift Pass offers up to 20 percent savings when 2 parents and 2, 3 or 4 children book their passes together (single parent families should contact the lift pass office for further details SETAM: +33 (0) 479 00 07 08). Children must be aged between 6 and 18 years, the under 5's ski for free. You can buy a family pass for either the Val Thorens area or all Three Valleys.
During the summer months you can purchase a Val Thorens multi-activity card, which gives discounted access to a plethora of sports and fun activities. Some of the lifts also remain open throughout the summer, so hiking and biking can take the place of skiing. Please see our Summer Guide for details of lift pass prices and family ticket options.
Epic Pass in Val Thorens
The Epic Pass along with unlimited access to numerous resorts in the States also gives 5 days of free skiing in Val Thorens.
To get your non-consecutive ski passes you simply need to go to the nearest Val Thorens lift office with your Epic Pass (as long as your photo is on the pass, you don't need any other ID) where you will be given five one-day passes.
As the passes are individual day passes, the lift company recomend leaving the other ski passes at home as they risk all being validated by the first lift you take and you won't be able to use them on subsequent days!
