In winter there are various different passes on offer, and the choice can be bewildering. All passes are now hands-free and don't require photos - they stay in your pocket and you no longer need to show your pass to the lift attendants. You can buy your pass online here.
The Family Lift Pass offers up to 20 percent savings when 2 parents and 2, 3 or 4 children book their passes together (single parent families should contact the lift pass office for further details SETAM: +33 (0) 479 00 07 08). Children must be aged between 6 and 18 years, the under 5's ski for free. You can buy a family pass for either the Val Thorens area or all Three Valleys.
The French Ski School (ESF) offers children’s lessons with slightly cheaper lift passes included in the price.
During the summer months you can purchase a Val Thorens multi-activity card, which gives discounted access to a plethora of sports and fun activities.
