About Local Buses in Val Thorens
Val Thorens is Europe's highest ski resort, made up of three main villages: Val Thorens, Les Menuires and Saint-Martin de Belleville. There is a good public transport system in winter and summer linking Val Thorens and each of the different villages in the Belleville Valley, as well as Courchevel and Meribel via Moutiers.
When looking at timetables be aware that they're in French so L = Lundi / Monday, M = Mardi / Tuesday, Me = Mercredi / Wednesday, J = Jeudi / Thursday, V = Vendredi / Friday, S = Samedi/ Saturday & D = Dimanche / Sunday.

There is a free shuttle bus service in and around Val Thorens. There are also routes connecting Val Thorens with Les Menuires, Reberty and Saint-Martin de Belleville. These services run in the summer and winter seasons.

The closest bus station is in Moutiers, the town at the bottom of the mountain which is also where you'll arrive if you're coming by train. Buses from the nearest airports usually stop at Moutiers, from where you need to catch another bus to Val Thorens (see below).
Buses from Chambery airport to Les Menuires and Val Thorens operate four times per day on Saturdays and once on Sundays during the ski season. It takes around 2h30 hours to get to Val Thorens, changing at Moutiers on the way.
Buses from Lyon airport run on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during the ski season and take around 03h15 to get here, also changing at Moutiers on the way. They operate twice a day on Fridays, four times on Saturdays.
Buses from Grenoble operate on Saturdays and Sundays in winter and are scheduled to meet arriving flights. It takes around 2h00 to 2h30 to get to Moutiers from this airport where you can pick up a connecting bus into Val Thorens.
Buses from Geneva airport operate every day of the week in winter with six buses on Saturdays, four on Sundays and three on all the other days of the week. This route takes around 3h30.

The bus service connects Moutier with Saint-Jean de Belleville, Saint-Martin de Belleville, Les Menuires and Val Thorens. Children under 4 years old can travel for free on this service and 4-12-year-olds travel at half price.
From Moutiers, you can take buses to the neighbouring ski resorts of Meribel and Courchevel.
