New Year in Val Thorens, Les Menuires & St Martin

featured in News & reviews Author Gemma Hunt, Val Thorens Reporter Updated

Well 2015 is drawing to a close so it’s time to celebrate!

As usual there will be the torhclit parades in St Martin, Les Menuires and Val Thorens. The parade takes place at 6pm in Val Thorens with fireworks also taking place with a countdown at midnight. If you are in St Martin the parade is unlikely to be on skis due to lack of snow but just gather near the draglift at 6.30pm for the descent. In Les Menuires the torchlit descent takes place at the Croisette at 6.30pm with free mulled wine and hot chocolate. I’m not normally a massive fan of fireworks but the mountain displays are pretty impressive.

It’s Prohibition at Malaysia for the New Year Celebrations so get your jazz hands at the ready and party in style! There will be a photo booth with printable pictures to take home your Val Thorens souvenir. Snow Café and Le Monde are teaming up with tickets for both at 15 euros tickets just make sure you head over before 7pm to purchase.

There is the usual shenanagins down in Les Menuires at Plan B and Le Leeberty with jager bombs and genepi a plenty to welcome in the New Year.

Then if you feel you can keep the party going head to La Folie Douce on 1 January for the ‘We are Animals’ party and if you happen to have packed your animal mask or onesie then you will fit in a treat!

All the fantastic Belleville restaurants will be open this evening for a 2015 feast just make sure you book in advance as it will be busy.

Wherever you celebrate, have a good one. Happy New Year!
